Sponsorship
Our project of building a junior band is ongoing. A number of the junior players have worked hard and already progressed to the senior band. The remaining junior players continue to practice and flourish. They have performed short programs as part of the senior band concerts, which gives them a taste of a stage environment. We intend to visit local primary schools again, with the aim of recruiting more youngsters, who are keen to learn to play brass instruments. Our Musical Director, Tam Horne, continues to give lessons on an individual basis to help the youngsters to progress. Everything we have done so far as been free of charge to the children. We have provided them with the instruments and music they need, again free of charge. We are continually looking for ideas for fund raising events , to raise money for both the junior & senior band. Details will be added as the ideas/dates develop. ...................................................... |
Brass Instrument Repairs
We offer instrument repair services. Mark Jarvis (Principal Euphonium Player) from the band, has the necessary skills to repair & maintain the instruments within the band. If you have any repair/servicing requirements please contact the band on the numbers listed in Contacts. Mark will be willing to give quotations or advice as required. ..................................................... |
New Players
We are actively trying to attract new players to the band. Our new poster is now being distributed around the area, to see if there are any interested musicians. We are hopeful that there are people that have played in the past and might want to give it a go again. Easier said than done, of course, but we give free lessons to anyone needing a refresher or starting from scratch.
As always we hope to attract musicians of all ages and abilities. All will be made welcome. We are a friendly bunch so please feel free to come along or contact us for a chat.
